Elise Posledni: Witches, Demons & the Prequel I’m Already Demanding

My very first NetGalley review brought me to Elise Posledni’s A New Witch in the Northwoods. Now the author has joined me on the Imperfect Rebel Podcast—and naturally, I spent part of our conversation demanding more books.

Elise and I talk about the Wisconsin forests that inspired her debut, witches and demons, invented histories so convincing I tried to Google them, and the delicate art of making a cosy fantasy suddenly feel very dangerous. We also discuss her writing routine, magical rules, the thrill (and terror) of publishing a first novel, and what an honest review can mean to an author.
