NOTHING!!!
Well. My version of nothing.
I reposted something where I was featured. Is “featured” the word? I’m not sure, but I woke up to find that Elise Posledni had shared a post thanking me for my review of A New Witch in the Northwoods, which comes out on 22 September.
And yes, I got emotional. I wasn’t expecting it!!! She’s so lovely.
That review was one of the first I wrote and published on this webpage. You know, the one slowly becoming your favourite. The one you check several times a day because otherwise you get FOMO. The webpage everybody needs to survive!!!

Honestly, if it hadn’t been for Elise sending some love my way, this microscopic indie author would probably have spent Sunday feeling sad about the KDP desert.
She reminded me that even when my own book isn’t selling, something I wrote still mattered to somebody.
So today’s colours are borrowed from her beautiful book cover. A little author love, sent right back. Forest green, autumn leaves and a tiny bit of magic for my Sunday. 🖤🍂
So, as you can see, I might not be selling my own book, but authors seem to love me. And I love them back. Yeah! That’s me. Your sweet book reviewer. Lol.

I had pizzaaaaa. A frozen one. And it still looked better than my cooking.
No, I didn’t take a picture. I ate it. Again. Gosh.
Another missed opportunity for my promising career as a food influencer.

Those large percentage increases start from small numbers. That’s why I’m showing the totals too. Views, impressions, visitors and plays measure different things, so I’m keeping each platform’s results separate.
But seven hours and nineteen minutes of listening? Rebels. That is quite a lot of me. 😂
Instagram and my brief NetGalley moment
Remember that NetGalley reposted me? That helped drive the lovely spike in views. Now the daily views have come back down, which gives a bit of context to the roller coaster.
The 6,126 views are the whole 30-day total, not all views from that repost. And 62% of those views came from non-followers, so the content is being seen beyond the people already following me.
Naturally, my next thought is: how do I get NetGalley to notice me again?
Apparently one moment of attention was enough. Now I want another. 😂
Meanwhile, Google is bringing people to the reviews
My The Cozy Nook Bookshop review brought in six Google clicks during the reporting week. One search was “the cozy nook bookshop spice level”: two clicks from six impressions, with an average position of 1.67.
Someone had a specific question. My review appeared. They clicked. I like that.
The two Ramen, Existential Crises URLs brought in five clicks combined. The country figures show four Google clicks from Japan, behind the United States with six. These separate tables don’t tell us which pages those Japanese visitors opened, but hello again, Japan. 👀
My English Before October Ends book page, meanwhile, had six search impressions and no clicks in this window.
So that’s where we are: people are finding my reviews. Getting them curious about my own book is still the part I need to figure out.
Did our desert get a little palm?
No, Rebels. No books sold.
Not even a tiny oasis to justify one of those little cocktail umbrellas.
But I’m not giving up. At some point, somebody will read my book, love it and share it. In my more ambitious daydreams, that somebody has a very large audience and Before October Ends becomes a bestseller.
Look at me manifesting again.
Until then, we have the actual numbers, a frozen pizza and tomorrow’s work.
