Hello Rebels! Welcome to the Imperfect Rebel podcast. I am Lupe Farkas, and this is the second time I'm recording this podcast because the Riverside did me the favor of cutting the first podcast I recorded today, and so I have to record it again. Yay! I'm so happy. So I'm gonna try to actually repeat what I said on the first time I recorded this podcast.

Not gonna be the same because today the podcast is about yapping, about talking, about telling you guys the news, then the last things that happened lately. And I don't have anything written, I'm just gonna be speaking with you guys. And why am I doing this? Because I said that I was gonna come with the podcast every Thursday and blah blah blah, everything that I said on the last podcast. But life happened, a lot of things on my table, and the last thing I wanted to do was to record a podcast.

Which is very sad because I actually love to record podcasts, but I don't understand why I never do that. Because I love it. I just love sitting here and just speaking with you guys. Right every day what's going on what's happening, the views, what I'm doing, how are people reacting on social media with all the nonsense that I post. I'm just joking. I don't post nonsense. I actually post a lot of things that are very cool, like for example, all the ARC reviews and everything around books and everything that is happening that I love, and also.

This new way that I'm trying to this new way, well actually it's not a new way, it's just that I am ancient. I'm a millennial and so I do things like we used to do in the 2000s when all this social media, all these web pages came out and we were there ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta just typing, you know, we were not there dancing. We were there typing.

Posting pictures and I loved it so much. I don't know how many of you miss those times, but I've missed them a lot. I missed Tumblr so much that now I'm in Tumblr. And guess what? Tumblr is actually doing very well. Yeah. I already have followers, I already have comments, I already have people there, and the people there are so nice. Not saying that people on Instagram aren't, because actually I'm making I'm building a very nice

you know, friendships on Instagram. I'm actually very happy of this project that I started on lupefarkas.com because I'm meeting so many cool people and I love all of them. Seriously, till now I just met nice people. Okay, let's not talk about the scammers. The scammers are actually all coming from LinkedIn. Yes, LinkedIn is the one that is delivering to us all the pearls of wisdom of the scammers and

Rebels every day. Now a little bit less because I think they're reading my my blog posts around the project. Now we are on day eighteen and I think that the scammers are there reading. And they're like, No, we're not writing to this crazy woman because we're gonna end up on her blog. And and I I serve screenshots, yeah. I put the I erase the name and the picture.

And don't think, rebels, that I get upset. I don't get upset at all. At all. I actually laugh. The only time that I got upset was the first scammer. That one broke my heart. But now, hmm. So I actually don't get sad. I see it as content. Yeah, I see it as content. So keep it coming, keep it coming, keep keep it coming. You guys can, you know, sit all together and just you know build a project. Are we gonna be able to scam Lupe Farkas? Just try it, bros. Okay. So what I've been up to. I'm gonna tell you all the news. So, first of all, I received my first arc.

Paperback. Do you understand that? My first. And the first is just the first of many. Because now I'm waiting for other two, three to come and I'm so happy. It's just another feeling when when you are about to receive a paperback. Not not saying that the EPUB is not cool. I love receiving the EPUB by email. It's very nice. I read the books, I love them, most of them. And but the paperback has another feeling, isn't it? You just have it in your hand.

You smell it, the paperback is another feeling. And I love receiving our paperback. I can't wait to receive a big book. A big book, you know, like 300, 350 pages, 400 pages paperback to review. I can't wait for that. I wanna just you know fill it with sticky notes and just write in the margins. I can't wait for that. I don't know. When you read that book, it just fills your heart with love and hope. It makes you feel good. And I think it should be read like in schools and yeah, it's it's a very good book. Good news on Monday I'm gonna be recording a podcast with George Mak. So soon, soon, soon you're gonna be listening to the author speaking about his book, about all the stories behind the book, why he wrote the book, and I spoke with him yesterday, and he is an amazing, an amazing guy. And I think he's gonna make us all cry. And also laugh because he's also funny. And then I read my first sci-fi, yes.

I don't really like sci-fi movies. So when Sean Robins, yay, Sean Robins. Sean Robins, if you guys don't know, he has more than 40 books out. He's a big indie author. He's amazing. He writes like he makes you laugh from the first moment. When he when I received his email, I I was laughing so hard. And and to be honest with you guys, I didn't want to read the book because I don't like sci-fis, as I said, but

The email was so funny and he's so genuine and his energy is so amazing that I was like, No, I'm gonna read this book. And I did very well and I'm very happy I read the book because I'm a Weapon by Sean Robins is everything that you need on a Sunday afternoon to have a big laugh so you can start Monday with the boom because seriously it's it's amazing. And then if you like tattoos and you like art, then

The Marked Path by Ghostwolf Art. He's a tattoo artist, is everything. It's visual poetry. And it has all these images that he drew and it's amazing. And guys, I that this is not a commercial. I I'm not getting one euro out of this. It's just because these are the last three books that I read, and all of them spoke with me in a different way. All of them made me have

a very good time in very different ways and I really got attached to to the authors of these books and yes you need to go and read it so this is one of the news then rebels we reached 1000 listens on imperfect rebel do you understand that is it normal I couldn't even believe it when I got the the message from Spotify for Creators I was like

No, you're fucking kidding me. Where's the camera? This must be a joke. This cannot be for real. 1000? I cannot even imagine how 1,000 people all together look like. But yeah, I felt like Taylor Swift. Just joking. Nobody is like Taylor Swift. By the way, if you're hearing Taylor Swift on the background, it's because I have five dogs.

And she's their doggy sitter. She doesn't know about that. And I hope she never discovers because I ain't got that kind of money to pay her. But every morning after they had their breakfast, if I don't put the last concert, you know, of the Eras Tour that it's now on Disney, if I don't turn it on, I have Diego that looks at the TV and barks and only stops after I turn it on and press play to Taylor Swift.

As soon as Taylor Swift starts singing, they just calm down, they fall asleep, and I have peace. Then around twelve o'clock, they wanna go out a little bit, they go out a little bit, and when they come back, they want to listen to Taylor Swift again. And who am I to say no, right? So yeah, I have five dogs around me listening to Taylor Swift and they are quiet, no barking. It's amazing. That's the magic of Taylor Swift, right?

And I hope that Riverside doesn't let me down now and that I can continue, you know, recording. Because I have to say two, three more things, and then I'm gonna stop, wrap it up, because I already was yapping for 45 minutes and I'm not yapping for 45 minutes again. So, rebels.

But yeah, internet because you know, this project that I started, I was like, could the way that we used to to do, you know, the the way we used to live in the internet in the two thousand, could it be brought back, you know, with the pictures, with the writings, with you know, interacting normally, without dancing, without singing over songs, without all this shenanigans that it's going because the rebels, one, I'm not very photogenic. Second.

I am not very good dancer. Third, I don't know how to do these videos. I I think that to make these videos you have to be like super smart. You have to have another kind of brain. And I don't have those kind of brains. I don't really know how to cut in the right moment and then start singing again and dancing. I don't know how to do it. I see indie authors doing amazing things and I just look at them and think, my God, you're so good.

That's why you're selling loads because you're fucking amazing, but I am not. So the only way I found is I need to do things the way I know how to do. And how do how how do I know? Well, I post a picture, I post things, I blog, I write, and this is what I'm doing. And it seems like that it's working. Because if you go see the numbers, it's 18 days that I started, and we are growing, rebels. And guess what?
