WILDFIRE & THE SUN PRINCE
A Spicy Enemies to Lovers Fae Romance of Arranged Marriage and Forbidden Desire
by S.D. Huston
★★★★★
A quick, magical, emotionally satisfying fae romance that delivers the endorphins of an 800-page fantasy without asking you to sacrifice an entire day, three meals, and your remaining responsibilities.
Full Review
I never thought such a quick read would make me enjoy a story this much. 🧐
I usually read long books where the story takes time to develop, where I wait hundreds of pages for the emotional payoff.
But this? Wow. 🤩
This was such a quick read, and it was so good that when it ended I had that delicious feeling of having read the final chapters of a much longer book—except I did not have to wait twelve hours or read 800 pages to get the endorphins.
It was like receiving the emotional reward without first having to cross three kingdoms, memorise seventeen family trees, survive a war, and abandon all domestic responsibilities.
The book felt complete. It did not leave me with unanswered questions. It gave me enough, and it gave it beautifully.
For the next few minutes after finishing, I just sat with my thoughts about the story and felt genuinely happy.
And honestly, that is not easy to do.
The author managed something very difficult: making the reader feel satisfied, entertained, and emotionally rewarded in only around fifty pages.
The story moved quickly, but it never felt empty. The characters still had enough personality to become intriguing and lovable, and the romance had enough tension to make me care about what happened between them.
But of course, as it happens with every good book, my mind started wanting more.
Actually, maybe not my mind.
My heart.
Because the characters are intriguing, lovable, and easy to care about.
This is enemies-to-lovers at its core, but in a very sweet kind of way. There is tension, resistance, attraction, forbidden desire, and all the delicious complications created when two strong characters are expected to follow a path their hearts may not agree with.
The spice was perfectly placed, the pacing worked, and the romantic payoff felt earned without taking over the entire story.
And yes… now I want more.
I want more from these characters, and I want more short books like this.
I also think books like this are perfect for getting out of a reading slump. Quick, satisfying, magical, romantic, and full of that little spark that makes you want to pick up another book immediately.
Now? Go read it!!! 🌺
I will definitely be picking up more books from this author. 🐝

Lupe damage level
7/10
Forty-something pages, one emotionally satisfied Lupe, and an immediate demand for more time with these characters.
Spice level
🌶️🌶️🌶️
Three well-placed chillies. Enough heat to make the forbidden desire convincing without setting the entire fae kingdom on fire.
Reading-slump rescue
10/10
Fast, magical, satisfying, and dangerous to the rest of your TBR because you will immediately want another book.
